Ramblings of a weary soul...

It's been two years since I last posted anything in this blog. A lot of things have happened since the last time I posted. I lost two persons close to my heart due to stroke, my dad and my uncle, in a span of two months in 2015. I had to go on awol from law school, and had to play catch up once I decided to return.

People say that I have a strong personality, and that they admire my resolve and will to move on, despite the challenges I have faced. But lately, I find myself doubting each decision I have made since 2013. The phrase 'is it worth it?' had been a recurring thought whenever I go to school.

How can a person remain strong, when the source of their strength has been taken from them unexpectedly? I may seem confident and full of encouraging words, but then I realized, that the one who needed the encouragement the most is myself.

I miss you so much, Dad. Please lend me your strength once more. I need to make a decision. Please give me your guidance, Lord.

December 2014, time flies...

It's been a year and a half since I started law school. Balancing working and studying had been hectic and kept me from blogging and writing fanfictions and original fiction. It's been an struggle but I find myself getting the hang of things. Some of my classmates blog their digested version of the cases we have tackled in class in their blogs. This made me think, why not do it as well? It'll keep my blogs updated and could help other working law students as well.

I think I'm quite confident with my analysis and summarizing skills. Though i'll probably put a big disclaimer like: "Use as reference at your own risk" or something.

Oh well, this the Christmas season and for some reason I don't feel christmassy yet.

But for what it's worth, Happy Holidays!

It’s June, baby!

I can’t believe we’re halfway through the year. I won’t be surprised if I wake up one day to realize that it’s the Christmas season once more.

Last May was an eventful month for me. I passed the PUP College of Law entrance examinations, which means that starting June 17, I’m officially going back to school. I’m a little nervous as it’s been eight years since I’ve been considered a student. I have a lot of catching up to do.

Wish me luck!

How’s everyone’s week so far?

Hope you all have a fun and blessed weekend. (“,)

Of entrance exams and elections…

I took the entrance exam for PUP College of Law in Sta. Mesa last May 11, 2013. I was part of the third batch of hopeful examinees. We were advised at the start of the exam that we were all scheduled for the interview at 12nn on May 18, 2013. First come, first served basis. I guess that made sense since there were like forty (40) slots remaining for the first semester. Being punctual would help big time I guess since it would show how determined you are to get that coveted spot.

Would it be too much if I arrive for the interview an hour early? Or would that be weird? Anyway, I hope that they would still consider me for enrollment even if I don’t arrive for the interview early. *fingers crossed*

On a more serious note, I just finished casting my vote for our midterm Senatorial and Local election. Our precinct was one of those who have low voters turn out so it didn’t take me and my sis more than fifteen minutes to cast our votes. Though the PCOS machine returned my ballot twice, lol!

I guess the machine didn’t like who I voted for, teehee!

So yeah, that’s how my weekend and Monday was so far. Oh, and it’s raining right now, lucky! The temperature’s been nearing the forties (in Celsius) for the past few days and weeks so this weather change’s very much welcome. Smile

How’s everyone’s day so far?

Decisions, decisions...

After seven years, I have finally decided to pursue a degree in law. Believe me, it was not an easy decision to make. There were a lot of things to consider since I am currently working and live south of the Metro (Cavite). Most of the good law schools are located in Manila and travel would take a toll on my body (I'm in my early thirties, need to start being extra cautious about my health).

So after a lot of deliberations and consultations, I've finally decided on taking the entrance exams for these two schools: PUP College of Law and FEU Institute of Law.

I did consider the MBA-JD program of DLSU and FEU. Who wouldn't say yes to a double degree in five years right? Unfortunately, I don't have the capacity to shell out 150k for the yearly tuition (the program's tri-sem).

I hope that I get to pass the PUPCLEE as the tuition's really low compared to FEU. I'm a product of an SUC for my pre-law so I know how good the professors are in an SUC setting. Plus the low tuition is a great bonus as well.

Wish me luck!
