THEFACESHOP Addiction

I’m not a vain person. I could care less about make ups and beauty rituals. I just use Alyssa Ashley as body skin moisturizer and sometimes use St. Ives Apricot scrub or Celeteque water based moisturizer for my face. However, when I turned thirty last year, I realized how important a skin regimen is. Especially when I am seriously going to enroll in law school.

I used to tease my friend, Shayne (In My Own World, shanen10.blogspot.com), that she is a bad influence when she introduced THEFACESHOP products to me. I’m a sucker for good, quality products and I will not contest how good this shop’s wares are. The items are reasonably priced, way cheaper than Etude’s and it doesn’t hurt that the endorser was from my first fave Korean boyband, SS501.

It’s convenient as well since my old lotion, Alyssa Ashley is so hard to buy. I had to ask my Aunt who used to work in Dubai to send me a big bottle when my supply’s almost a third full. There are a lot of THEFACESHOP outlets in the metro so I can just go to one when I have the time.

I have three items that I tried and are loving at the moment. The first is Jeju Orange Pure Water Facial Mist. Priced at two hundred fifty pesos (P250.00) for a seventy milliliter (70 ml) bottle, this handy product does wonders to one’s face. It’s a moisturizer and provides an instant relief from the hot weather.

The second item is the EAU de L’AME Perfumed Body Milk. It costs seven hundred ninety five pesos (P795.00) per two hundred thirty milliliter (230 ml) bottle. It takes moisturizing seriously and smells really great. I think it has a cooling agent in the ingredients because no matter how hot my room was, whenever I apply the lotion to my skin it still feels cool. It also has a two counterparts, a body scrub and a body wash. I’d like to get my hands on these two items when I have extra money to spare.

The latest and newest item I bought was the Green Tea Body Perfume Mist. I was looking for the mist version of my lotion but unfortunately, it doesn’t have one so I just settled for a product whose scent closely resembles my lotion. This item costs four hundred twenty five pesos (P425.00) per one hundred five milliliter (105 ml) bottle. Not bad eh? And I’m telling you, it freaking works! We spent almost an hour inside Pepper Lunch and came out smelling like the menu. Sprayed some of the mist on my clothes and voila! My cousins all agreed it was a good purchase as they all used my perfume to mask the smell of sizzling steak that clung to their clothes.

Just in case you wanted to see how the products look like, here’s a picture.

Ain’t it obvious from our smiles that we love to eat?

On that note, I wish everyone a great and stress free Sunday.

Talk to you later!

taking a break...

...from writing for a moment. I need to finish this 15k word story by tomorrow night. The deadline is one week from posting, which in my case is on the 1st of September, US CST time (so that'll be around 1pm Manila time on September 2). I'm currently at 6344 words and counting. I'm confident i'll be able to reach the required word count before noon tomorrow. The mods did say they just need the final draft, not the edited version, so whatever I finish writing, i'll be sending over, to heck with the grammar and spelling mistakes.

Okay, so I guess i'm done with my break now.

Back to writing. Ta!

HP7

This movie's my favorite so far. The way the scenes were executed... the casts' acting... even the way it ended was quite good if I had to compare it to the other HP movies. It was a breath of fresh air seeing Ron acting more mature, Harry deciding for himself and Hermione more in touch with her emotions. And of course, watching Draco, Lucius and Narcissa having second thoughts at the presence of Voldemort at their home - my heart went out to them - especially when Lucius handed his wand over to his master. Voldemort and Bellatrix's performance still gives me the creeps! Hedwig and Dobby's deaths absolutely made me my eyes misty. And Peter Pettigrew's dungeon scene made me laugh. =)

Even though there were some scenes in the book I wish he'd included as well I still give two thumbs up to David Yates. It was really hard to make the movie at par with the book and at the same time correcting previous directors' mistakes. My sister's eyes were glued to the big screen the entire movie duration and I was surprised that she actually understood the goings on even if  she haven't read one book from the series. Quite the opposite when we watched HP6 where she spent the whole time asking me for things she can't understand.

On a lighter note, the slasher in me can't help but wish during the Malfoy Manor scene for Draco to lean forward just a bit more and just kiss Harry! I can't help but ask my companions if they thought the scriptwriter was a closet slasher teehee! The movie had a lot of fodder for the slasher mind you know. Bill/Harry at the beginning when Fleur polyjuiced as Harry had a moment with Bill while they rode a dragon. Ron going after Harry outside the Burrow... oh well, not complaining.

And a lot of scenes involving Dan Radcliffe with his shirt off - *drools* - enough said.

Can't wait for the last movie to hit the big screen!

That said, how's everyone's weekend?

Just got home...

...from attending mass - egads! Yeah I know, the world must be coming to an end lol! I do go to church once in a while - though I wish I stayed there longer. Our neighbors had been wailing, err, I mean singing since yesterday morning - and they aren't done yet - nor do I think they have plans ending their festivities anytime soon. *sighs*

Sometimes I wish I were one of those barangay officials so I have the authority to tell them to stop contributing to noise pollution. I mean, I do understand that they want to have fun - heck, I love singing when we have our family reunions - but come on man! Almost 36 hours of non-stop-out-of-tune-wailing-I-mean-singing can be quite irritating, no, make that annoying. *screams*

Okay, done ranting for now. How's everyone's weekend?
